A tragic and unusual sequence of events led to the death of 22-year-old Reed Elliott Carter, a Black male from Ypsilanti, Michigan, on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2020. The incident occurred inside an apartment where Carter was with his friend, 22-year-old Marcus Mackey.
