In the late summer of 2021, the life of 25-year-old Deonta Thomas was cut tragically short in Detroit. On August 29th, Thomas sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his thigh, the bullet striking an artery. In the initial confusion and grief following the incident, his family was deeply troubled by the circumstances surrounding his death and reached out for answers.
