On a Saturday morning in Detroit, what began as a visit to the city for Jeremy Quintin Cornett, a 37-year-old male, ended in a fatal encounter. On September 15, 2012, Cornett and two friends, Shane Taylor and Seth Ryan Brown, were seated in a parked Buick Century on the 6900 block of Minock Street on the city's west side. The group had traveled to Detroit from Letcher County, Kentucky, along with a female companion who was inside a nearby house at the time of the incident.
