On a summer evening in Detroit, 22-year-old Dajour Russ was shot and killed while making a food delivery. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 2, 2022, in the Corktown neighborhood. Russ was on his first day working as a DoorDash driver, a job he had taken to make ends meet, when the fatal shooting took place at the Clement Kern Gardens Apartments on Bagley Street.
