In the late afternoon of December 16, 2022, a burst of gunfire shattered the relative quiet near Interfaith Boulevard in Kalamazoo, Michigan, forever altering the course of two young lives. Seventeen-year-old Jashawn Omar Jones, a Black male, was struck by a bullet from a 9mm semi-automatic handgun.
