In the small town of Inverness, Mississippi, a weekend argument tragically escalated, leading to the shooting death of 40-year-old Kita Wilson. The incident, which marked the town's first homicide of the year, unfolded around midnight.
According to the local police chief, an altercation between Wilson and another individual, Anthony Dewayne Brandon, 44, is believed to be the catalyst for the fatal shooting.
The disagreement took a violent turn, resulting in Wilson sustaining fatal injuries.
Following an investigation into the late-night violence, authorities apprehended a suspect. Anthony Dewayne Brandon, also of Inverness, was taken into custody in connection with the death. He has since been charged with first-degree murder. Following his arrest, Brandon's bond was set at $500,000 as he awaits further legal proceedings in the death of Kita Wilson.
