Marcus Clay, a 50-year-old man from Canton, was shot and killed on April 22, 2026, after an argument unfolded inside a Jackson liquor store. The shooting happened around midday at Hot Shot Liquor, Wine & Spirits, also identified in reports as Liquor Wine and Spirits, on Northside Drive near the I-55 frontage road in Jackson, Mississippi. Capitol Police were called to the business at about 12:20 to 12:23 p.m. after reports of gunfire.
