Samuel Edward "Sam" Cockrell, aged 46, tragically lost his life on July 8, 2003, in a horrific incident at the Lockheed Martin plant in Meridian, Mississippi. Sam Cockrell was one of six employees killed in a mass shooting perpetrated by Douglas Williams, a fellow employee at the plant. The shooting, which also left eight others injured, was a devastating act of workplace violence that shocked the community and the nation.
