On July 11, 2023, a concerned citizen discovered the body of 49-year-old Tonio Matthew lying unresponsive on 14th Street in Meridian, Mississippi. Upon arrival, Meridian Police Department officers and emergency medical personnel determined that Matthew had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
