James "Jimmy" Phillips, aged 76, passed away on January 11, 2010, in Gulf Hills, Mississippi. His death was a tragic result of a double murder-suicide orchestrated by his son, Sammy Phillips. Jimmy, who was paraplegic, was shot four times in the face, while his wife, Joanne, aged 70, was beaten to death. The incident left behind one surviving daughter.
