In the late autumn of 2014, the city of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, was troubled by a wave of violence that would claim its twelfth homicide victim of the year. On the night of November 29th, a 39-year-old man named Nathaniel Alexander was targeted in a drive-by shooting. The sudden eruption of gunfire left him critically wounded, and despite being rushed to Forrest General Hospital for medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries.
