In the summer of 2024, the life of Marcus 'MJ' Daniels Jr., a 21-year-old Black / African American male, was tragically cut short in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. A promising senior defensive back for the University of Southern Mississippi football team, Daniels was discovered unresponsive in his vehicle on the evening of June 11, 2024, at the Ivy Row Apartments, an off-campus housing complex.
