In the late summer of 2014, the life of 35-year-old Carlos Yancey was tragically cut short in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. On the evening of August 22nd, Yancey was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking lot of the Green Tree Apartments on North 38th Avenue. Despite the efforts of first responders who transported him to a local hospital, Yancey succumbed to his injuries, leaving a community in shock and a family to grapple with a sudden and violent loss.
