Death by Force

Patrolman Benjamin Joseph Deen, a dedicated officer with the Hattiesburg Police Department, tragically lost his life on May 9, 2015, at the age of 34. Deen, along with fellow officer Liquori Tate, was conducting a routine traffic stop near the intersection of 4th Street and Gordon Street in downtown Hattiesburg when the incident occurred. During the stop, both officers were shot by the occupants of the vehicle. The assailants then fled the scene, with one of them stealing the patrol car.
