Austin Alton Bruce, aged 69, was found dead on October 1, 2015, in Clarksdale, Mississippi. His death was part of a tragic incident that also claimed the lives of 28-year-old Candace Roper and her unborn child. The victims were discovered in a duplex on King Street, with Bruce found on the living room couch and Roper near the front door. Both had been shot to death.
