Robert E. Smith Jr., aged 39, passed away on December 14, 2016, in Columbus, Mississippi. He was pronounced dead at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle after sustaining a gunshot wound to the stomach. Robert E. Smith Jr. was the son of Columbus Mayor Robert E. Smith Sr. and Joanne Dismuke. He was employed with North Atlantic Security and was a member of Zion Gate MB Church.
