On December 21, 2016, Swaran Singh, a 48-year-old store owner, was tragically shot and killed during a robbery at his business, D's One Stop Food Market, located on Highway 80 East in Brandon, Mississippi. The incident occurred around 10:17 p.m. when a customer discovered Singh's body in the store's storage room and immediately called 911.
