In the early hours of a Tuesday morning in Brandon, Mississippi, the lives of two families were irrevocably shattered. On January 30, 2024, 18-year-old Montrell Briggs, a young man with a promising future, was found deceased. He, along with another 18-year-old, JaMarques Patterson, became the victims of a fatal shooting that unfolded around 2 a.m. in the area of Mary Myles Drive and Mary Crain Circle.
