Alonzo Dukes, a 53-year-old resident of Leland, Mississippi, was found dead on February 4, 2017. Dukes lived in a two-story building that housed both his residence and commercial units. On the day of his death, Dukes' business associate, Roderick Bell, became concerned when Dukes did not show up for a scheduled meeting. Bell, along with Dukes' nephew, went to Dukes' home and discovered signs of a break-in. They immediately contacted the Leland Police Department.
