In early February 2017, concern grew among the friends and business associates of Alonzo Dukes when he became uncharacteristically unreachable. For hours, he hadn't been to either of his offices, prompting one of his partners to check on him at his residence in Leland, Mississippi. Upon arrival, the unsettling sight of a partially open garage door and ajar interior doors heightened their fears. They immediately backed away from the home and contacted the Leland Police Department.
