Reginald Gaines, a 30-year-old resident of Vicksburg, Mississippi, tragically lost his life on March 7, 2017. Gaines was a passenger in the rear seat of a car traveling south on U.S. 61 South when he was shot in the head. He was initially taken to Merit Health River Region by a private vehicle and later flown by helicopter to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMC), where he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
