In the early spring of 2017, the life of 30-year-old Reginald Gaines, a male resident of Vicksburg, Mississippi, was tragically cut short. On a Tuesday evening in March, Gaines was a passenger in a vehicle traveling south on U.S. 61 when he was struck by a bullet to the head. The shooting was not a random act of violence but the culmination of a dispute that had erupted earlier at a nearby convenience store.
