Aqawvius, affectionately known as 'Quay,' was a fifth-grade student at Ripley Middle School. He was an active and joyful boy who loved playing football and basketball, riding his bike, and playing video games.
He also had a fondness for animals, particularly his dogs and cats, and enjoyed spending time outdoors, swimming and skating. Born on March 16, 2006, in New Albany, Mississippi, he was a beloved son, brother, and grandson who had accepted Christ at an early age.
Investigations into the circumstances of his death determined that the shooting was accidental and self-inflicted. The incident was a heartbreaking tragedy, leaving his family and the wider community to grieve the sudden and unexpected loss of a vibrant young boy. No arrests were made in connection with his death due to the accidental nature of the event.
