In the quiet neighborhood of Villa Del Rey in west Gulfport, Mississippi, a mother's world was shattered. Her 16-year-old son, Damien Thompson Jr., a male known for his big smile and love of basketball, was supposed to be with friends he trusted on the morning of Saturday, February 3, 2018.
