On the night of February 4, 2018, Fabian Dwight Dailey, a 50-year-old male, was at a Super Bowl party with friends at a home on Bellview Street in Moss Point, Mississippi. The gathering turned tragic when at least four or five armed and masked individuals forced their way into the residence at approximately 11:44 p.m. The intruders, intent on robbery, ordered the party attendees to the floor.
During the chaotic home invasion, the assailants went through the house, robbing the occupants. One of the residents was in a bedroom with two minors when he was shot and wounded after attempting to grab a weapon from a suspect to protect the children. Fabian Dwight Dailey was fatally shot when he courageously tried to wrestle a gun away from one of the intruders. A third person was also wounded by gunfire as the suspects fled the scene. The incident was described by law enforcement as a targeted and gang-related attack, not a random act of violence.
The investigation, a collaborative effort involving the Moss Point Police Department, the FBI, and other agencies, led to the arrest of four 20-year-old men in August 2018. The suspects were identified as Darrian Dontae 'Kreole K' Cooks, Robert 'S.J.' Jackson, Tykice 'Kreole Ty' Laddel Watts, and Sirmarrion 'SBM' Davis. They were subsequently charged with capital murder. Later, a fifth suspect, Michael Anthony Doss, was also indicted on the same charge. A Jackson County grand jury indicted all five men on capital murder charges in connection with the deadly home invasion.
