On the evening of February 8, 2018, Sukhjinder Singh, a 45-year-old resident of Jackson, Mississippi, was fatally shot during a robbery at his Citgo gas station. The assailant, identified as Alvarado, entered the establishment and, during the course of the robbery, used Singh's own firearm to shoot and kill him.
