John Ashley Bennett, a 42-year-old chef from Brookhaven, Mississippi, was found dead at his residence on April 21, 2018. Bennett, who was known for his love of the outdoors, sports, and animals, was discovered by his mother with gunshot wounds that appeared suspicious. The Brookhaven Police Chief, Kenneth Collins, confirmed that the nature of the wounds led to an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
