Mose Lee Daniels, a 39-year-old man, was shot and killed in Aberdeen, Mississippi, on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. The fatal incident unfolded at a residence on Baptist Street, where an argument escalated into deadly violence. When Aberdeen police arrived at the scene, they discovered Daniels lying deceased outside the home.
The dispute that led to the shooting was reportedly over a repossessed vehicle. Investigators believe that 31-year-old Lillian Cayson and Daniels were involved in a heated disagreement connected to the vehicle. It was suggested that the conflict arose from 'he say she say' regarding the repossession. Statements indicate that Cayson had allegedly informed a car lot, which held the loan, where the van was hidden, enabling them to repossess it. The subsequent confrontation between Cayson and Daniels over this matter turned deadly.
Lillian Cayson was arrested shortly after the shooting and, according to the Aberdeen Police Chief, she confessed to the crime. The weapon investigators believe was used in the shooting was also recovered. Cayson was charged with murder, and a judge set her bond at $150,000. At the time of her arrest, she also had pending simple assault charges. In August 2019, a Monroe County grand jury indicted Cayson on the murder charge, and the case was set to be presented to the District Attorney's Office.
