In the quiet community of Vaughn, Mississippi, a visit to a boyfriend's home turned into a tragedy for 32-year-old Alisha Lee. On the evening of Sunday, May 3, 2020, deputies from the Yazoo County Sheriff's Department responded to a call reporting a shooting. When they arrived at the residence of Anthony Simmons, they discovered Lee deceased in the bed, having been shot four times in the back of the head.
The initial call to the authorities identified Simmons as the shooter.
Deputies found him down the road from his home, where he had been talking to neighbors. According to the chief investigator, neighbors reported that Simmons had confessed to shooting Lee and had even asked them to kill him.
