In the spring of 2023, the life of 16-year-old JaKamori “Kamori” Lake was tragically cut short in Gulfport, Mississippi. The teenager, who was three and a half months pregnant with a baby boy, was fatally shot in the head on a Sunday afternoon at the Gables Apartments where she lived. In the immediate aftermath, a private vehicle rushed her to Memorial Hospital at Gulfport. Despite the swift transport, she was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival at 1:32 p.m.
