Summary based on 2 sources
In a senseless act of violence that stemmed from drug use, 27-year-old Tiffany Goodman, a female, was fatally shot in a garage near Gulfport, Mississippi. The incident occurred on April 7, 2018, at a residence on Mills Road in the Lyman community. Goodman, who was from Wiggins and had been living in Biloxi, was at the home with three other people when the shooting happened. She did not know the man who would ultimately take her life.

Witnesses at the scene identified 19-year-old Dannie Wayne Bergeron Jr. as the shooter. Following the shooting, Bergeron and an alleged accomplice, 21-year-old Jacob Tyler Scaife, fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. Investigators quickly obtained arrest warrants, charging Bergeron with murder and Scaife with accessory after the fact to murder. Their escape led them to a relative's home in Franklinton, Louisiana, where they were apprehended by Washington Parish deputies on fugitive warrants.

During interviews with Harrison County investigators, both Bergeron and Scaife admitted to using methamphetamine in the days leading up to the murder. Bergeron told deputies that although he had never met Goodman, he believed she deserved to be killed. In November 2020, Dannie Bergeron Jr., then 22, pleaded guilty to the murder of Tiffany Goodman. In court, he apologized to her family, stating that he did not remember the details of the killing due to his methamphetamine use. A judge sentenced him to life in prison for the crime.
