In a tragic turn of events on the evening of November 26, 2024, 50-year-old Elena Davis, a licensed professional counselor from Gulfport, Mississippi, was found deceased inside a residence on Graves Avenue. She and a 52-year-old man, Koritnik Graves, had both sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The grim discovery was made by Gulfport Police who responded to a shooting at the home at approximately 7:49 p.m.
The primary suspect in the double homicide was quickly identified as Elena's
51-year-old estranged husband, Christopher Antoine Davis. In the weeks leading up to the fatal shooting, tensions had reportedly escalated between the couple. Elena had sought legal protection and had an active protective order against Christopher, who was also wanted on domestic violence charges in the nearby city of D'Iberville. Fearful for her safety, Elena had been staying with Graves to hide from her husband. Just days before the killings, Christopher had allegedly attempted to burn down Elena's home in the Pine Haven neighborhood.
Following the shooting, a manhunt for Christopher Davis was initiated. He was described as armed and dangerous by authorities. After a two-day search that involved multiple law enforcement agencies and numerous tips from the community, Christopher Davis was apprehended on Thanksgiving night, November 28, 2024, in Gulfport. He was subsequently charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of his wife, Elena Davis, and Koritnik Graves.
