Shawmayne Giselle Marie McClam, a 27-year-old Black transgender woman, tragically lost her life on June 21, 2022, in Gulfport, Mississippi. Shawmayne and her sister were both shot inside their apartment at the Emerald Pines Apartments. The incident occurred just after midnight, and it was reported that an argument led to the shooting.
