Rachel Marie Lott, a 46-year-old female, was found deceased in what authorities have described as a murder-suicide. Her body was discovered on April 19, 2023, in a Gulfport, Mississippi, apartment. Alongside her was the body of 38-year-old Robert Henry.
Concerned when they hadn't heard from them, an individual requested a welfare check, which led to the discovery.
Responding police and fire departments were initially unable to enter the residence on Kelly Avenue and had to contact the landlord for access. Once inside, they found both Lott and Henry deceased. It was reported that Henry lived in the apartment where the bodies were found, while Lott resided in a separate apartment on the same property.
The Harrison County Coroner, Brian Switzer, stated that both individuals died from gunshot wounds. It was also noted by the coroner that Lott and Henry had been in an ongoing relationship. The Gulfport Police Department, Gulfport Fire Department, and the Harrison County coroner's office all responded to the incident. While her death was officially recorded on April 10, 2023, her body was not discovered until April 19th.
