Born on July 12, 1999, in Jackson, Catera was the eldest of seven siblings and a beloved member of the Cherry Grove M.B. Church. A 2017 graduate of Clinton High School, she continued her education at Hinds Community College, where she earned an Associate's Degree in 2019. Known for her ambition and work ethic, she was employed at both Continuum Global Solutions and the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Her passions were diverse and showcased her vibrant personality; she had a love for performing with the Mississippi Ballet, cheerleading, fashion, and cooking. Above all, she cherished spending time with her loved ones.
In the wake of the senseless shooting, the Jackson Police Department launched an investigation that quickly led to an arrest. A male suspect was taken into custody shortly after the incident and was subsequently charged in connection with Brown's death.
