Darnell T. Choice, age 18, was shot and killed on September 25, 2010, in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood. The incident took place in the 7500 block of South Chappel Avenue. Choice was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after emergency responders arrived. His death added to the escalating wave of violence that characterized Chicago in 2010, particularly in neighborhoods heavily impacted by gang activity and systemic socio-economic issues.
