In the summer of 2020, the life of 33-year-old Keith Lamar Lawson, a Black male from Gulfport, Mississippi, was tragically cut short. On the evening of June 14th, Lawson was shot multiple times in a violent encounter that took place off Hewes Avenue. He was rushed to Memorial Hospital, but the severity of his injuries proved fatal.
Lawson was a cherished member of his community, known for his big heart and readiness to help others.
He was a familiar face to many, having spent years working at both Wendy's and Hooters. His passions included basketball, video games, and cooking. He is remembered by his family, including his mother Comalisa Lawson Haynes, as a source of strength and care.

To date, no arrests have been made in connection with Keith Lawson's murder, and no suspects have been publicly identified.
