In the summer of 2020, a young life was abruptly cut short on a street in Jackson, Mississippi. Dontrez Stigger, a 19-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on the evening of August 4th. The incident unfolded around 8:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Trinity Street, a grim addition to the city's growing tally of homicides that year.
