In the summer of 2021, the life of 17-year-old Martavius D. Brown was tragically cut short in Jackson, Mississippi. A student at Crystal Springs High School, Martavius, who was also known as 'Fat daddy,' had aspirations of one day joining the military. He was legally adopted at the age of five by his grandmother, Gladys Brown, who raised him from infancy. Friends and family remembered him as a young man with future goals. He was also a basketball player for his high school.
