In the winter of 2020, the life of 15-year-old Shamar Demand Griffin, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Jackson, Mississippi. On the evening of December 22nd, Griffin was a passenger in a vehicle when it was targeted in a drive-by shooting. The incident unfolded in the 5500 block of North State Street, where assailants in another vehicle opened fire.
