In a quiet neighborhood in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the life of 68-year-old Ralph D. Lindsey was tragically cut short on January 26, 2021. Lindsey was discovered deceased inside his home located in the 700 block of Woodland Court, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound. His death was officially ruled a homicide by the Forrest County Deputy Coroner, Lisa Klem, prompting an immediate and thorough investigation by the Hattiesburg Police Department.
The investigation into Lindsey's death swiftly led to the identification of a suspect. Two days after the discovery of Lindsey's body, on January 28, 2021, authorities arrested 63-year-old Danny Ruffin. Based on the evidence collected at the scene and through their investigation, police charged Ruffin with one count of murder in connection with Lindsey's shooting death. Following his arrest, Ruffin was booked into the Forrest County Jail to await legal proceedings.
