On a Friday night in late March of 2019, a dispute at a Hattiesburg, Mississippi, apartment complex turned fatal, ending the life of 23-year-old Jumarus Daniels. The young man, known to some as 'JD LocLife,' was at a gathering at the apartments on Shears Road on March 29th when a fight broke out. During the altercation, Daniels sustained a gunshot wound.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and Daniels was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The initial investigation by the Lamar County Sheriff's Department was met with challenges, as many of the approximately 15 witnesses to the shooting had dispersed by the time law enforcement arrived.

In the days that followed, the investigation progressed, leading to the identification of individuals believed to be involved in the incident. While the specific details of the altercation and the motive behind the shooting were not widely publicized, authorities made arrests in connection with Daniels' death. One man was taken into custody and charged with manslaughter, while a second individual was arrested and charged with hindering the investigation. The identities of the suspects and the ultimate outcomes of their legal cases were not extensively covered in publicly available online sources.
