In the early morning hours of Friday, May 14, 2021, a grim discovery was made in a vacant lot in Greenville, Mississippi. Responding to a welfare check at 7:42 a.m. in the 300 block of North Harvey Street, officers from the Greenville Police Department found the body of Sylvester Hanes, a 21-year-old Black male.
