On May 26, 2021, a domestic dispute in Brookhaven, Mississippi, ended in a tragic murder-suicide. Felicia Elmore, a 39-year-old Black female, was shot and killed by 38-year-old Joseph Parker. The incident unfolded inside a vehicle on Amite Road as the two were reportedly on their way to the home of Parker's mother.
