On July 1, 2023, in Brookhaven, Mississippi, 28-year-old Shanecia Ferdinand and her brother, 30-year-old LaDarius Rockingham, were fatally shot in a domestic incident. Ferdinand, who was pregnant, also lost her unborn child as a result of the shooting.
