In the late spring of 2021, the life of 19-year-old Priddy Yvonne Jackson, a Black female from Vicksburg, Mississippi, was tragically cut short. On May 31, 2021, she was fatally shot by her boyfriend, Jimel Smith, following an argument that reportedly erupted over text messages he discovered on her phone.
