In the early morning hours of a summer day in Jackson, Mississippi, a discovery was made that would leave a community searching for answers. On June 13, 2021, George Earl McKinley Jr., a 42-year-old Black man, was found inside his silver Infiniti on Capitol Street. He had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident marked the 63rd homicide in the city that year.
