Charles Stewart Jr., a 20-year-old from Hazlehurst, Mississippi, tragically lost his life on January 2, 2022. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning when Hazlehurst Police Department received a call about a body lying on Larkin Street. Officer Laquandia Cooley, who was on duty that night, responded to the call, only to discover that the victim was her own son, Charles Stewart Jr. He was found with a gunshot wound to the head, lying in the middle of the street.
