Decedric Stampley, 20, a Black male, was taken to Copiah County Medical Center late on the night of Monday, October 13, 2025, after being shot in the Hazlehurst area of Copiah County, Mississippi. Deputies were called to the hospital at approximately 11:10 p.m.; Stampley died from his wounds soon after. Authorities initially released few details about the circumstances of the shooting while they opened a homicide investigation and asked the public for tips.
