In the spring of 2022, the life of 17-year-old Brandarius Queshun Boler was tragically cut short. A Black male, Boler was a promising high school senior at Meridian High School, known affectionately as 'BB.' He was an honor student with aspirations of becoming an engineer and a talented athlete who played both basketball and football. His future seemed bright, filled with the potential of a young man on the verge of graduation.
On the afternoon of April 27, 2022, Boler was at an Exxon gas station on Highway 19 North in Meridian, Mississippi. In a sudden act of violence, he and 19-year-old Quandarius Moffite were fatally shot. The incident, which unfolded around noon, sent shockwaves through the community, leaving friends and family to mourn the loss of two young lives. Boler was remembered for his kind heart and sense of humor. He passed away on April 28, 2022.
The Meridian Police Department quickly launched an investigation into the double homicide. Their efforts led to the identification of two suspects. One of the suspects, 26-year-old Cordeyair Brown, was arrested and subsequently charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Boler and Moffite.
As the investigation continued, authorities identified a second individual believed to be involved in the shooting. An arrest warrant for murder was issued for 19-year-old Decameron Brown. Law enforcement officials sought the public's help in locating him, urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward. The community was left to grapple with the senseless violence that claimed the lives of two of its young members as the search for the second suspect continued.
