In the late summer of 2020, the life of 19-year-old Diqwun Lavell Martin was tragically cut short in Meridian, Mississippi. The young male was first reported as a missing person on August 27, 2020, sparking concern among his family and friends. A week later, on September 3, 2020, the search came to a grim conclusion when his body was discovered in the 4600 block of 25th Court.
The investigation into Martin's death was an active one, and it would be some time before arrests were made. The Meridian Police Department worked the case, and their efforts eventually led to the identification of multiple suspects. In April of 2022, the investigation gained significant momentum with the arrests of 21-year-old Onorious Campbell and 21-year-old Myson Mosley. Both men were charged with first-degree murder in connection with Martin's death and were held without bond.
Shortly after the initial arrests, the Meridian Police Department apprehended a third individual. Jakavion Adams, 22, was taken into custody and also charged with murder, as well as possession of stolen property. His bond was set at $1,050,000. The arrests were part of a broader initiative by local law enforcement to address violent crime within the community.
