On August 19, 2022, Laura Lumpkin, a 66-year-old female, was fatally shot in her Jackson, Mississippi, home. Police responded to a call about a deceased individual at 124 Barbara Avenue. Upon arrival, they encountered Robert Lumpkin, his hands in the air, exiting the residence. Inside, they discovered his wife, Laura Lumpkin, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the neck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
